    BlackBoard and EagleAdvisor

    Why Can't I login?

Blackboard and EagleAdvisor can be accessed by logging in through: My.MSJC.edu. Your EagleAdvisor Password is the same as your Blackboard Password. If you cannot login, please consider the following:

Are you Currently Enrolled at MSJC?

If you have never attended MSJC you will need to apply for admission.

Have you taken a Semester Off from MSJC?

If you have not attended MSJC in the last semester, or more, please reapply.

    Confirm Your Username:

You may have forgotten your Username or you may be inputting an incorrect Username. You may need to obtain your Username.

  • Be prepared to enter your last name and your Social Security Number OR your Student/College ID Number.

  • Try a Password Reset:

You may have forgotten your Password, or you may be inputting it incorrectly. Try resetting your password.

  • Be prepared to enter your Username, the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, and your Date of Birth.
  • When resetting your password you must enter your Username in all lowercase (ex. jdoe123 and NOT JDOE123).

  • Is there a Problem with my Browser?

Your browser must allow Pop-ups as well as accept Cookies from the MSJC Website. Although most browsers automatically manage cookies based on your Privacy settings, you may need to adjust the settings if you are experiencing issues. Please be advised that you will need to follow these exact same steps for other websites required for your courses. Your instructor will notify of such websites, for example www.Cengage.com.

    Why can't I access Cengage/MindTap?

The most common issue students experience with accessing Cengage Learning and MindTap through BlackBoard is that their browser is blocking the pop-ups. What you will need to do is allow pop-ups from www.Cengage.com. In order to do this, please see the instructions above on enabling pop-ups. It is recommended that you allow pop-ups from both www.Cengage.com and www.MSJC.edu.

    Student Email: Office 365

    What is Office 365?

Office 365 is a suite of applications created by Microsoft which includes Outlook. Outlook is the application MSJC uses so students can have access to their own personal student email accounts. The purpose for students to have an MSJC email is so that students have a direct communication link with their instructors and receive important class updates as well as college updates. It is required that you have a student email account and that you communicate with your instructors only through this email.

How do I Access my MSJC Email?

In order to access your MSJC Student email, you will need to go to the following link: Student.MSJC.Edu. You can also access your email by loging into Blackboard and clicking on the Office 365 link located under Student Email.

Remember that your student email will be similar to your BlackBoard/EagleAdvisor username. All you need to do is add student.msjc.edu to the end of your BlackBoard/EagleAdvisor username.

    • For example: lname777@student.msjc.edu

How do I Get Email on my Smartphone?

It is vital that you check your student email regularly. For easy and convenient access, it is recommended that you setup your student email to your smartphone. If you would like to learn more, please review the Student Email to Smartphone instructions.

Why Can't I Login to my Email?

    Try a Password Reset:

Because a student's email password is generally different than their BlackBoard/EagleAdvisor passwords, it is common for students to forget their email password. A common mistake is that students try to reset their passwords through Microsoft. However, you will actually need to reset your email password through EagleAdvisor. Please review the instructions on how to reset your student email password.

    Confirm Your Email Address:

Another common issue is that a student may have forgotten their student email address, all you need to do is add student.msjc.edu to the end of your BlackBoard/EagleAdvisor username.

    • For example: lname777@student.msjc.edu
    • If you do not know your BlackBoard/EagleAdvisor username, you will need to obtain your Username.
