Baseball Team Hammers Saddleback

The MSJC baseball team hammered out 18 hits as they cruised to an easy 12-2 win over Saddlebhubertforroster.jpgack College Saturday in Mission Viejo.

The Eagles scored a run in the top of the first to get things going, but really opened the game up in the seventh when they rallied for five runs to put the game out of reach.  Joe Riley went 3 for 5 on the day with two walks, while Corbin Clinedinst added two hits, three runs scored, and an RBI.  Zac Hubert went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored in the victory.

Miguel Navarro started on the mound for MSJC and went four innings allowing two runs.  Dakota Downs, making his first appearance of the season picked up the win as he threw four shut out innings in relief for the Eagles.  Sean Gonzalez pitched a scoreless ninth inning for MSJC.

The win improved the Eagles record on the season to 9-10 while the Gauchos dropped to 10-9.  MSJC returns to Foothill Conference action on Thursday when they host Chaffey College at 2:30 pm.

 

 

Zac Hubert went 3 for 4 Saturday with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored to help MSJC defeat non conference opponent Saddleback 12-2. The win improved MSJC's season record to 9-10 on the season.
