Big Sixth Inning Gives Eagles Sixth Straight Win
The MSJC baseball team broke open a 2-1 game in the sixth inning when they rallied for five runs to win their sixth game in a row on Thursday over visiting Antelope Valley College 7-1.
The Eagles got eight strong innings out of starting pitcher Miguel Navarro as he allowed just one run and struck out eight on his way to his fourth victory of the season. Chris Borst came in to close down the ninth inning in relief.
Travis Navarro and Garret Viega both drove in two runs to lead the Eagles offense. Jeff Ricker, Blake English, and Adam Balliger all each added an RBI as MSJC pounded out 14 hits in the win.
The Eagles who are now 11-11 overall and 8-6 in Foothill Conference play will be back in action at Antelope Valley on Saturday to wrap up the three game series. Saturday's game begins at noon.
