Eagle Baseball Begins New Season

The MSJC baseball team lost 12-10 Tuesday at Citrus College on the road in Glendora.  It was the Eagles third game of the season and MSJC now stands at 1-2.

Tuesday the Eagles fell short after a furious comeback scoring 9 runs in the final three innings including 5 in the ninth.  MSJC out hit Citrus 15-9 in the game.  The Eagles had to use 7 different pitchers in the game, with Danny Borst having the longest outing out of the bullpen, throwing 2 and 2/3 innings.  MSJC pitchers combined to walk 11 hitters in the game.

Offensively, Joe Riley and Zac Hubert both collected 3 hits and drove in two runs to lead the Eagles.  Corbin Clinedinst added a solo homer in the game.

MSJC started the season last week splitting a pair of games with San Diego Mesa.  The Eagles won at Mesa 7-4 on Thursday and lost 15-1 at home last Saturday.  MSJC returns to action tomorrow when they travel to Compton College.
