Eagle Baseball Moves to 2-0 in Conference
The MSJC baseball team beat Barstow for the second straight time on Tuesday to improve to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in Foothill Conference action.
The Eagles got three RBI from both lead off hitter Joe Riley and clean up man Chris Houston as they defeated the Vikings 12-3. Randy Bruce collected a game high three hits for MSJC as they pounded out 16 hits in the seven inning game.
Scott Simmons picked up the win on the mound improving his record to 2-0 on the season to go along with 2 saves. Simmons went 4 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out three. Danny Borst pitched the final three innings allowing just 2 hits and no runs.
In game two of the double header the game was tied at 6 after nine innings when darkness fell and suspended the game. The conclusion of that game will be made up at a later date.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday when they host College of the Desert at 2 pm. MSJC will travel to COD on Saturday for a double header beginning at 11 am.
