Eagle Baseball Pushes Streak to 7
Josh Barry's three run double in the bottom of the eighth inning propelled the MSJC baseball team to their seventh straight win Wednesday, 5-3 over visiting Palomar College.
In a game that started as a pitching duel, the Eagles were able to muster enough offense late in the game to come away with the victory. The combination on the mound of Brian Lewis and Dale DeSchepper allowed just one earned run for the Eagles. Lewis went the first six innings and DeSchepper pitched the final three earning the victory. DeSchepper improved his record to 2-1 and to go along with 2 saves.
Jeff Bunch hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie, before Palomar tied it in the eighth leading to Barry's bases loaded double.
The Eagles who improved to 7-3 on the season are back in action Friday when they travel to Imperial Valley for a doubleheader.
