Eagle Baseball Team Rallies for Fifth Straight Win
The MSJC baseball team came back from a 5-1 deficit on Tuesday to win their fifth straight game at Antelope Valley 6-5.
Jeff Ricker drove in the tying run on an RBI double in the top of the ninth and then scored the winning run on an RBI single by Garret Viega one batter later. Both Ricker and Viega had 3 hits on the day for the Eagles. Travis Navarro and Steven Chagolla also drove in a run a piece for MSJC. Chagolla added two stolen bases on the afternoon.
Chris Borst picked up the win on the mound for MSJC going 1 and 1/3 innings in relief getting four outs without surrendering a hit or a walk. Garret Hicks and Matt Oden also threw 1 and 1/3 a piece of scoreless relief. Starter Ryan Kendall went 5 innings allowing 5 runs and striking out 8.
The win improved the Eagles overall record to 10-11 and moved their mark in the Foothill Conference to 7-6. MSJC will host Antelope Valley on Thursday at 2:30 pm and wrap up the series at Antelope Saturday afternoon.
