Eagle Bats Explode Against Imperial

The MSJC baseball team pounded out 23 hits on Tuesday as they defeated visiting Imperial Valley 15-1. Clay McElyea broke the game open early with a two run double in the bottom of the second inning that built the Eagles lead to 5-1.

In the fifth inning it was Corbin Clinedinst who added a bases loaded triple to put MSJC up 9-1 on the way to the easy victory.  Seven Eagles had multiple hit games including three hit games by Clinedinst, Joe Riley, Matt Palmer, and Zack Hubert.  Brent Brown picked up the win on the mound for MSJC.

The win improved MSJC to 4-4 on the season.  The Eagles open Foothill Conference play on Thursday with a game at Rio Hondo College.  MSJC returns home for a doubleheader on Saturday when they finish the three game series with Rio.  The first game on Saturday is set for 11 am.
