Eagles Lose Tight Game at Chaffey in the Ninth

The MSJC baseball team couldn't hold on to their 1-0 lead Tuesday as Chaffey rallied to score two runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Eagles in a Foothill Conference game in Rancho Cucamonga.

The Eagles got a solid pitching performance from Ryan Kendall as he went eight plus innings allowing just 5 hits and 2 runs while striking out 9.  MSJC however could only manage 4 hits in the game.  The Eagles lone run came on Johnny Armenta's solo home run in the top of the third inning.  Travis Navarro, Blake English, and Chase Phillips had the other three hits for MSJC.

The Eagles are now 4-10 on the season and 2-5 in Foothill Conference action.  MSJC will play Chaffey again on Thursday at home beginning at 2 pm.
