Eagles Make it Ten in a Row with Sweep of SBVC

The MSJC baseball team swept a doubleheader on Saturday from visiting San Bernardino Valley to win their 9th and 10th straight games.

The Eagles improved to 24-7 overall and 15-3 in Foothill Conference play leaving them in first place. In game one Drew Madrigal threw a complete game shutout going 7 innings allowing just two hits and striking out 8 in the 12-0 win. John Eschleman went 4 for 4 at the plate and drove in two runs. Justin Wybenga and Ryan Lefevre also drove in two runs a piece in the victory. As a team the Eagles pounded out 18 hits. Devin Greco and Josh Ray both had three hits a piece.

In game two the Eagle bats continued to dominate as MSJC collected 21 hits en route to a 19-6 victory. Anthony Smith had four hits and 2 RBI while Madrigal added three hits and 4 RBI including a three run homer to the opposite field. Garrett Caldwell and Jeff Bunch both had 3 RBI in the game two victory. Jacob Negrete picked up the pitching victory improving his record on the season to 4-0.

The Eagles are back in action next week when they play three non conference games starting with Palomar in San Marcos on Tuesday.
