Eagles Shut Out Rio Hondo

Drew Madrigal threw a complete game shut out Thursday afternoon as MSJC defeated visiting Rio Hondo 6-0. The win improved the Eagles overall record to 13-6 and they moved to 5-2 in Foothill Conference play. The Roadrunners dropped to 5-2 in conference and 8-9 overall.

Madrigal went the distance allowing just three hits and striking out 11 in 9 innings of work. He also added 2 runs batted in in the bottom of the third to give the Eagles their first runs of the game. Justin Wybenga had three hits for MSJC and added an RBI. Garrett Caldwell and Devin Greco also drove in runs in the victory.

The same two teams will go at it again on Saturday as the Eagles travel to Whittier to play the Roadrunners in a doubleheader. The first game begins at 12 pm.
