John Eshleman, a member of the 2009 MSJC baseball team that won the Foothill Conference title, has been promoted to Double A Richmond in the San Francisco Giants organization.
Eshleman was an 11th round pick in the 2009 Major League Baseball draft and has been with the Giants organization the past four years. Eshleman has played 120 games in his professional career and this is the first time he has been called up to the double A level. Eshleman is listed as a shortstop on the clubs roster, but has also played third base, second base, and the outfield in his career.
While a member of the MSJC baseball team in 2009 Eshleman was named First Team All Foothill Conference, hitting .455 and setting a single season record for hits as an Eagle with 75. In his sophomore campaign that saw the Eagles reach the Southern California Super Regionals, Eshleman also had 3 homeruns, 32 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases as MSJC set the school record for victories at 31.
