MSJC Defense Struggles at RCC

MSJC committed six errors Wednesday, and despite giving up just 7 hits the Eagles fell to Riverside 10-4.

RCC jumped out to a 3-0 lead with an unearned run in the second and two runs in the third inning. The Eagles responded with a run in the top of the fourth, but RCC answered with 3 of their own in the bottom of the inning. The Eagles couldn't make it much closer the rest of the way as the teams traded runs in the middle innings leading to the final score.

Second baseman Danny Aradas, and pinch hitter Michael Pino each picked up an RBI for the Eagles, who only managed 3 hits on the afternoon. Dale De Schepper took the loss for MSJC on the mound going 3 innings and allowing 5 runs, 3 earned on just 2 hits. The Eagle bullpen had a solid outing pitching 5 innings and allowing just 1 earned run. Daniel Tielsch pitched a perfect 7th for MSJC.

The loss drops the Eagles to 0-2 on the season. MSJC is back in action Saturday when they travel to Compton for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
