Acuna Leads Class of Football Signees
All Mountain Conference offensive tackle Jose Acuna leads the 2008 class of Mt. San Jacinto Eagle football players signing with four year schools. The 6'6" 305 pound tackle signed with The University of Nevada in January. Acuna was a two time all conference performer for the Eagles and started all 20 games in his career at MSJC. The Wolfpack were ranked among the country's top 25 last year and have been to four consecutive bowl games. Acuna is already attending Nevada and is competing in Spring drills for a spot in the Wolfpack's starting line up. "My time here at MSJC was an amazing experience," said Acuna "I have never had such a good supporting cast of coaches and teachers."
Other 2008 Eagle football players that have signed early include quarterback Colin Wigely and defensive tackles Antonio Brown Jr., and Andrew Misapeka. Wigely is competing in Spring practices at Tusculum University in Tennessee. Brown is at Charleston Southern University, while Misapeka is finishing classes at MSJC before heading to Kansas Wesleyan. Wide receiver Troy Alsobrook is already at Wesleyan working out with the team. Quinton Lilienthal a defensive back has also already signed and will be playing at Ottawa College in Kansas.
According to head coach Casey Mazzotta five to ten more Eagles are expected to sign this spring and summer.
