Eagles Get Last Tune Up Before Season Opener
The MSJC football team traveled to Santa Ana College on Friday to scrimmage the Dons, in the team's final tune up before Saturday's season opener.
The scrimmage which allowed both teams to work on all aspects of their game, was pretty evenly contested and MSJC was able to get all of their guys in to game situations. "Being able to go against somebody else is a big deal," said head coach Casey Mazzotta, "playing the same guys everyday makes it hard to make corrections and really see the different things that will happen in a game situation." "There are definitely things we need to fix, but overall I feel pretty good, that's a good Santa Ana team and we matched them physically."
The Eagles open the season on Saturday (Sep. 6th) when they travel to Rancho Cucamonga to take on the Panthers of Chaffey College. "I think we proved we hang with anybody up front," said Mazzotta, "I look forward to seeing how physical we can be, especially on the offensive line." Kick off for Saturday's game is 6 pm.
