The American Mountain Conference announced their 2013 All Conference teams over the weekend and MSJC landed four players on the first team and 5 on the second.
On the offensive side of the ball Michael Harrison was named to the First Team, as the all purpose player. Harrison led MSJC in rushing yards with 777 and receiving with 476 yards, he scored 12 touchdowns on the season. Joining him on the first team for offense was tight end Tyler Henderson who caught 9 passes and had two touchdowns. First Team defensive selections were linebacker Dejon Brown and cornerback Brett Layton, both also made the first team last year. Brown led the Eagles in tackles for the season with 60 while Layton had 36 tackles and an interception.
The Eagles also had three players earn second team all conference honors on defense. Linebacker Jason Dixon was named to the second team after recording 47 tackles including 6 tackles for loss and defensive tackle Johnny Williams also earned second team honors with 33 tackles. MSJC punter Richard Caballero who averaged 37.4 yards on 59 punts also earned second team recognition. Offensively, center Tim Bruzzesi and wide out/tight end Delontra Fields both earned second team all league. Fields scored three TDs on the season while Bruzzesi was a versatile offensive player being used as both a tight end and center.
The Eagles finished the season with a 4-6 record.
