Football Team Falls in Conference Opener

The MSJC football team opened Mountain Conference play on Saturday night with a 38-27 loss to host San Diego Mesa College.

The Eagles who trailed 21-13 at the half fell to 0-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference action. The Eagles were led on the night by running back Franex Dort who rushed for 78 yards on 15 carries. Quarterback Courtney Pete added 67 yards on the ground in 12 attempts. Pete combined with Carmen Boyer to go 11 for 27 through the air for 142 yards. A blocked punt for a touchdown by Mesa in the third quarter broke the game open for the Olympians.

MSJC returns home this Saturday October 3rd when they host Compton College. Kick off is set for 1 pm at Carl Quandt Stadium.
