Football Team Wins Shootout

 

The MSJC football team picked up their second win in three games aChambo vs LA Harbors they held off Los Angeles Harbor College 55-48 on Saturday.

The Eagles offense recieved some huge performances led by quarterback Carmen Boyer who threw for 375 yards on 23-36 passing.  Boyer also threw 5 touchdown passes on the day.  Wide reciever Daniel Chamberlain was the recipient of three of Boyer's TD passes while Courtney Pete and Troy Alsobrook caught the other two.  Chamberlain finished the day with 5 receptions for 164 yards.  On the ground Butch Tuvale ran for a career high 172 yards on 26 carries.  The two teams combined for over 1,200 yards of total offense in the game.

The Eagles defense survived the shootout by forcing Harbor into 4 turnovers on the afternoon.  Safties Kyle Shaw and ClarencCarmen vs LA Harbore Laster both got interceptions for MSJC.  The victory improved the Eagles to 2-7 on the season and 2-4 in Foothill Conference play.  MSJC finishes the season this Saturday when they host Victor Valley College at Carl Quandt Stadium.  Kick off for that game is set for 1 pm.
