The MSJC men's basketball team is just a couple weeks away from kicking off the 2013-14 season and they are giving fans a chance to come and meet this year's team.
The Eagles will be holding a "Trash Can" dinner on Tuesday October 29th at the Hidden Hacienda in Hemet. The event will include a no host bar and dinner while giving Eagle fans a chance to preview this year's squad. MSJC is coming off a season that saw them reach the Southern California Regional Semi-Finals and once again top the 20 win mark as they finished the season 21-11.
This year's team will feature a handful of returning players including all conference selection Dwayne Benjamin. Benjamin who was ranked as a top five player in the nation by several junior college recruiting services has made a verbal commitment to play at the University of Oregon next season. Benjamin is joined by returnees Dajuan Smith, Carlos McCormick, Mark Ware, and Danny Hopkins, who was a member of the Eagles squad during the 2011-12 season. Coach Springer is also excited about a number of new freshmen in the program.
Tickets for next Tuesday's event are $20 and can be purchased by contacting Tina Vandewater in the Athletics Office at 951-487-3591. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the event. Hidden Hacienda is located at 42174 Little Lake Road in Hemet. The no host bar will open at 6 pm and dinner will be served at 6:30.
