Eagles Back to Winning Ways; Beat Barstow
The MSJC men's basketball team got right back to their winning ways on Wednesday night defeating visiting Barstow College 68-59 in a Foothill Conference game. The win was the Eagles 12th in their last 13 games and kept them in first place in the race for the conference title.
MSJC, now 19-4 overall and 8-1 in conference, built a 16 point lead by halftime on the strength of their rebounding and defense. In the second half the Eagles never allowed the Vikings to get closer than 7 on the way to the victory
. Taylor Bell led four MSJC players in double figures on the night with 15 points. Anthony Dees added a double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Montreal Harris (14 points) and Josh Gouch (13 points) both also pulled in 9 rebounds. Abdulsamad Zaid led Barstow with a game high 21 points.
The Eagles are currently ranked fourth in the state and second in Southern California. MSJC returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they host College of the Desert at 3 pm.
