Eagles Dominate Second Half Beat Mesa
The MSJC men's basketball team outscored San Diego Mesa 57-37 in the second half to cruise to a home victory Wednesday night 97-74.
The Eagles struggled to make easy shots in the first half, but dominated on the boards to take a 40-37 halftime lead. In the second half the Eagles were off and running starting the half by out scoring the Olympians 27-6 to build a 67-43 lead with just over 10 minutes to play. A number of MSJC players had big nights led by sophomore Will Ceasar who had a game high 24 points to go along with 9 rebounds.
Point guard Melvin Goins added 16 points for the Eagles in limited action due to foul trouble, but Shenon Johannes picked up the slack at point guard scoring 13 points and passing out 8 assists. Terrance Williams also reached double figures for MSJC with 11, while sophomore Jesse Jimenez came off the bench to connect on three 3 point shots for 9 points.
The victory evened the Eagles record at 3-3 on the season. MSJC is back in action next Friday November 28th when they begin play in the Palomar Thanksgiving Tournament.
