Eagles Down VVC, Move to 5-0 in Conference

The MSJC men's basketball team built a 15 point lead by halftime and cruised home with a 75-6joshbarstow.jpg0 victory at home Wednesday night over Victor Valley College.

The Eagles struggled early on shooting just 30% in the first half, but made a late push to build the lead to 36-21 at the break.  Victor Valley would get as close as five in the second half before MSJC slowly pulled away the final 10 minutes of the game.

Josh Gouch and Taylor Bell led the Eagles offense with 18 points a piece while Montreal Harris had a double double with 17 points and a game high 16 rebounds.  Anthony Dees added 9 points in the victory.  MSJC out rebounded the Rams on the night by a margin of 51-38 and did an excellent job taking care of the basketball only turning it over 11 times on the night.

The win improved the Eagles record to 16-3 overall and 5-0 in Foothill Conference play.  MSJC had now won 9 games in a row.  The Eagles who are currently ranked #3 in the State will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Rio Hondo for a 3 pm game.

Josh Gouch scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds Wednesday night as MSJC won their ninth straight game 75-60 over visiting Victor Valley College.
