Eagles End Tourney With Loss to RCC

The MSJC men's basketball team tangled with Riverside for the second timJeffrey Weste this season and came out on the losing end of a very physical game 88-77.

In a game where 50 fouls and three technicals were called RCC shot 50% for the game to secure the victory. The Eagles shot a very solid 40% from beyond the three point arc, but couldn't find the mark at the free throw line going just 14 of 30.

Melvin Goins paced the MSJC effort with 18 points and 8 assists. Jeffrey West added 13 points and 8 rebounds while Mark Williams also chipped in with 13. The loss dropped MSJC to 7-6 on the season and ended the 39th Annual Wells Fargo Holiday Tournament for the Eagles.

MSJC returns to action next Thursday when they travel to the Bill Brummell Classic in Mission Viejo. They open that tournament against Irvine Valley at Saddleback College. Tip off is set for 1 pm.
