Eagles Fall in Second Half to Chaffey

The MSJC men's basketball team struggled for points down the stretch as they dropped their final regular season game at Chaffey 80-68.
After an even first half the teams went into the locker room tied at 30-30. The Eagles came out of the break playing well and building a lead that reached as much as 7 points. With 8:54 to go in the game MSJC led 58-53, but the Panthers answered with a 19-4 run over the next 4:30 to take a 10 point advantage at 72-62. The Eagles couldn't get it closer than 6 down the stretch.
Dominic Tiger-Cortes was the Eagles leading scorer on the day with 16 while D'Andre Williams added 15. Darnell Ferguson also reached double digits with 11 to go along with 9 rebounds and Dakota Downs just missed a double double with 8 points and 12 rebounds.
The loss dropped MSJC to 21-8 on the season and they finished Foothill Conference play at 10-4. The 10-4 mark for the Eagles was good enough for a second place tie in the conference with Chaffey.
