Eagles Gain Win 22 at Rio Hondo

Lee StephensMSJC rebounded from a turnover plagued first half to pick up a 80-74 victory Saturday at Rio Hondo.

Sophomores Dejuan Flowers and Lee Stephens (pictured) were the offensive stars of the day as Flowers recorded a team high 22 points, and Stephens added 19 to go along with 13 rebounds. Point guard Mark Williams also reached double figures with 11 points and 6 assists.

The Eagles committed a season high 18 first half turnovers, but made up for it by out rebounding the Roadrunners. For the game MSJC out rebounded Rio 51-34. The Eagles who have been shooting the ball extremely well as of late once again rode hot shooting to the win hitting 50% of their shots from the field.

The Eagles improved to 22-3 on the season and 6-1 in Foothill Conference play. MSJC has the week off before traveling to Victorville on Saturday to take on Victor Valley College at 7 pm. You can hear all the action on AM 1620 or msjc.edu on the Eagle Radio Network.
