Eagles Hammer Victor Valley in Foothill Opener
The MSJC men's basketball kicked off Foothill Conference play in grand fashion on Saturday as they defeated visiting Victor Valley College 106-47.
The Eagles used a balanced offensive attack with 13 different players scoring in the game on their way to an easy victory. MSJC blew the game open early and never looked back as they built the lead to 56-19 by halftime. Mylin Jordan came off the bench to lead three Eagles in double figure scoring with 21 points. Donovan Clark also hit double digits off the bench with 11 while Dwayne Benjamin added 10 points for the Eagles currently ranked #3 in Southern California and #6 in the latest state poll.
Thirteen of MSJC's 14 players played double digit minutes as the Eagles improved to 13-3 on the season and 1-0 in Foothill Conference play. MSJC is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Palm Desert to take on College of the Desert in a 7 pm game. The Eagles return home on Saturday January 12th when they host Rio Hondo. Saturday's game will immediately follow the MSJC women's game which begins at 1 pm.
