Eagles' Island Signs with San Diego State

MSJC basketball standout Tim Island signed a national letter of intent on Tuesday to San Diego State University.tim signs

Island, a 6-5 sophomore, from San Diego is the second Eagle to sign with a Division I school this spring. He joined Dejuan Flowers who signed with North Dakota State in April. Island was a first team All State and first team All Foothill conference selection this past season for MSJC. The shooting guard averaged 16.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the season. Island also led the Eagles in three point shooting connecting on 68 of them in 28 games.

"We are excited that Tim has been able to use Mt. San Jacinto College to reach a goal of his; to play at the high major level. Tim has been a great asset to both the athletic department and the campus life of Mt. San Jacinto College," said MSJC head coach Patrick Springer.
