Eagles Lose Close One on Road at Barstow
The MSJC men's basketball team came up just short on Wednesday night as they lost a tight game at Barstow College 68-62.
The Eagles and Vikings exchanged baskets most of the night in a game that was close through out. MSJC held a slim one point lead 29-28 at the half. In the second half the game remained close with neither team leading by more than 5 points, until the final margin of the game was pushed to six when Barstow converted on a couple late free throw attempts. Hassante Manning fought off the flu on Wednesday to score 8 points and grab a team high 7 rebounds all in the second half.
Three Eagles scored 11 points on the night to lead the MSJC offense. D'Anthony Peterson, Montreal Harris, and Dajuan Smith all had 11 while Mylin Jordan added 10. The loss dropped the Eagles to 14-5 overall and 2-2 in the Foothill Conference while Barstow improved to 4-12 and 2-2 in conference play. MSJC is back in action on Saturday when they travel to San Bernardino Valley for a 3 pm game. The Eagles return home next Wednesday when they host Chaffey College at 7 pm.
