Eagles Make it Three in a Row with Home Win
The Mt. San Jacinto men's basketball team won their third straight game on Saturday as they defeated visiting Victor Valley College 77-58.
The Eagles seized control of the game early on their way to building a 45-23 halftime lead. Eric Lawton led the offense with 24 points including his second straight game with 5 three pointers. Dakota Downs had a double double 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Jammall Clark narrowly missed one with 9 points and 9 rebounds.
With the win the Eagles improved to 15-5 on the season and 4-2 in Foothill Conference play. Victor Valley fell to 2-14 and 0-6 in conference. MSJC finishes the first round of conference on Wednesday when they travel to Lancaster to take on Antelope Valley. The Eagles return home on Saturday when they host first place San Bernardino Valley. Currently the Eagles are just two games behind SBVC in the Foothill Conference race.
