Eagles Roll at VVC; Need One More Win for Title
The MSJC men's basketball team picked up another victory on Saturday afternoon, this time at Victor Valley moving them to within one victory of at least a share of the Foothill Conference title.
Saturday the Eagles started fast and never surrendered the lead on the way to a 91-66 victory over the host Rams. Taylor Bell scored 19 of his game high 27 points in the first half as the Eagles built a 53-35 lead at the break. It was more of the same for MSJC in the second half as the lead reached as much as 34 points midway through the final half. Montreal Harris had a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Josh Gouch added 12 points in the victory.
The win pushed the Eagles overall record to 22-4 and improved their Foothill Conference mark to 11-1. The Eagles hold a one game lead over San Bernardino Valley with two games remaining for both teams. The Eagles play two home games this week to close out the regular season. Wednesday MSJC hosts Rio Hondo College at 7 pm and Saturday the Eagles take on Antelope Valley at 3 pm.
