Eagles Run Past Antelope Valley

The MSJC men's basketball team used efficient offense and hard nosed dWill Ceasarefense to open Foothill Conference play Saturday night with an easy win against Antelope Valley.

The Eagles who have now won three in a row were led by Melvin Goins who had 24 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists on the night. Will Ceasar came off the bench to score 16 points and pull in 13 rebounds. Mark Williams added 12 points on 4 three point baskets.

The Eagles defense was also very solid on the evening holding AVC to 19 of 56 shooting for the game. The win follows the Eagles triumph in the Hemet Valley Kiwanis Holiday Tournament and improves their record to 12-7 on the season. The win also was a critical one in the Foothill Conference race, where it expects to be a tight race all season with both AVC and the Eagles involved.

MSJC returns to action Wednesday night when they host Rio Hondo in a 7 pm game. All the action can be heard on the Eagle Radio Network at msjc.edu or AM 1620.

Will Ceasar came off the bench Saturday to score 16 points and grab 13 rebounds in the Eagles victory.
