Eagles Set For Regional Final at San Diego City
The MSJC men's basketball team has been hard at work this week preparing for Saturday's Southern California Regional Final at San Diego City.
The Eagles are taking on SDCC who comes into the game as the #4 seed in the Regional with an overall record of 27-4. The Knights are led by State Player of the Year candidate Malcom Thomas, who enters the game averaging 21 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks per game. Thomas was named the MVP of the Pacific Coast Conference which the Knights won. Jamel McGuire is the Knight's second leading scorer averaging 16.1 points per game while point guard Marquintice Davis scores 14.3 per contest and dishes out 8.6 assists per game.
MSJC is the number five seed in the tournament and has an overall record of 23-10. The Eagles won last week's Regional Semi-Final over L.A. City 97-84. Foothill Conference MVP Melvin Goins leads the Eagles in scoring with a 17.3 points per game average. He also dishes out a team high 5.1 assists per game. All Conference guard Mark Williams is the team's second leading scorer at 12.7 per game while Shenon Johannes is averaging 10.7 for the season.
Tip-off for Saturday's game is scheduled for 7 pm. To get to San Diego City College: Head South on the 15, then South on the 163, Exit at Park BLVD, Turn Right onto Park BLVD, Make a U-Turn at A Street. The college's address is 1313 Park BLVD.
