Eagles Win Keep Pace With San Bernardino
The MSJC men's basketball team stayed tied a top the Foothill Conference Saturday with an 80-73 win over visiting Antelope Valley.
The Eagles led most of the way in a tightly contested game building a four point lead at halftime and stretching it out to 12 on two occasions in the second half. Melvin Goins was the Eagles top scorer dropping in 22 points despite foul trouble that limited his minutes. Shenon Johannes added 20 while Jeffrey West scored 18. Goins, Johannes, and West combined to go 20 of 32 from the field on the afternoon.
The win kept the Eagles tied with San Bernardino Valley at 7-1 in Foothill Conference play. MSJC is now 18-8 overall and ranked #14 in the state and #6 in Southern California. The Eagles are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Whittier to take on Rio Hondo College. Tip-off is set for 7 pm and you can hear all the action on the Eagle Radio Network.
