Eagles Win Third Straight in Men's Hoops

The MSJC men's basketball team picked up their third straight Foothill Conference wi
n on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Rio Hondo 68-50 in Whittier.
The Eagles slowly built an eight point halftime advantage 35-27, before pulling away in the second half for the victory. Ten different Eagles scored in the game led by Dwayne Benjamin who had a game high 17 points. Benjamin also pulled in a game high 10 rebounds. Montreal Harris also reached double figures for MSJC with 12 points while Dajuan Smith came off the bench to add 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The win improved the Eagles record on the season to 17-8 overall and 5-5 in the Foothill Conference. MSJC will play their final two home games of the regular season this week. Wednesday the Eagles will play Barstow College at 7 pm and on Saturday MSJC will host San Bernardino Valley in a 3 pm contest.
