Late Shot Gives Barstow Win Over MSJC Men

Jeffrey Legree hit a 15 foot jump shot with 4 seconds left to lift Barstow to an 83-81 win over MSJC in a Foothill Conference game at Barstow on Wednesday night.

The game was tied at 81 all after the Eagles' Bucky Chenault hit a three point shot with 24 seconds to go. Legree then took the in bounds pass and slowly worked up court to get the game winning shot.  The Eagles had one last chance to send it into overtime as Chenault got the ball the length of the floor for a tying lay-up but his shot was blocked by Cheikh Fall as the buzzer sounded.

Barstow led at the half at 41-36 in a game that was close the entire way.  Eric Lawton led the MSJC offense with 18 points and 5 assists, while Dakota Downs added 17 points and 12 rebounds.  Jaree Crawford also reached double figures with 14 points.

The loss drops the Eagles to 12-5 overall and 1-2 in Foothill Conference play.  Barstow improved to 15-2, 3-0.  MSJC is back in action Saturday when they travel to Whittier to take on Rio Hondo College.  The Eagles return home next Wednesday January 19th when they host Chaffey at 7:30 pm.  You can hear both games on the Eagle Radio Network at msjc.edu or locally on AM 1620.
