The MSJC men's basketball team bounced back from a loss Wednesday night with a convincing home victory against Rio Hondo on Saturday 83-64.
The Eagles jumped out to a 45-32 halftime lead and steadily increased it through out the second half. Dwayne Benjamin had a strong game on the offensive end of the floor for MSJC with a team high 27 points including 4 three point baskets and two spectacular dunks. Montreal Harris had 14 points in the win and a team high 7 rebounds. Mylin Jordan came off the bench to reach double figures as well with 10 points. Anthony Owens led Rio Hondo's effort with a game high 28 points, making 7 three point shots.
The win improved MSJC to 14-4 overall on the season and 2-1 in Foothill Conference action while Rio Hondo fell to 2-11 and 1-2. The Eagles will be on the road for two conference match ups this week. Wednesday the Eagles will travel to Barstow and Saturday MSJC will be in San Bernardino. Wednesday's game is set to tip at 7 pm while Saturday's game will start at 3 pm.
