MSJC Men Open Saddleback Tourney with Win

The MSJC men's basketball team pulled away in the second half Thursday night to defeat Cyprgouchforcypress.jpgess College 67-51 in the first round of the Saddleback College Tournament.

The Eagles forged ahead in the first half to take a 32-26 lead into the locker room and outscored the Chargers by 10 in the second half as all 15 Eagles on the roster saw action.  Josh Gouch led a balanced scoring attack for MSJC with 14 while Anthony Dees also hit double figures with 11.  Five more Eagles had at least 6 points including Greg Dixon who had 6 to go along with a game high 13 rebounds.

The victory improves MSJC, currently ranked 10th in the state, to 8-3 on the season.  The Eagles continue action in the Saddleback Tournament tonight when they take on Long Beach City College in the semi-finals.  Tip off is set for 7 pm in Mission Viejo.

 

 

Josh Gouch led the Eagle offense with 14 points Thursday night as the Eagles improved to 8-3 with a 67-51 victory over Cypress, MSJC plays Long Beach tonight at 7 pm.
