MSJC Men Roll Past Victor Valley
The MSJC men's basketball team got off to a solid start on Saturday at Victor Valley and cruised home with a 96-37 Foothill Conference victory.
The Eagles jumped out to a 13-2 lead on their way to building a huge halftime lead of 54-17. In the second half it was much of the same as 10 of the 11 Eagles that suited up scored at least one basket. MSJC also dominated the glass in the contest out rebounding the Rams 52-28.
Dwayne Benjamin was dominate in the game scoring 18 of his game high 29 points in the first half. Benjamin also grabbed 9 rebounds. Donovan Clark came off the bench to record a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Sam Natt and Montreal Harris both scored in double figures as well with 13 and 12 points in the victory.
The win improves MSJC's overall record to 15-8 and they are now 3-5 in Foothill Conference play. Victor Valley is still looking for their first victory of the year and are now 0-19, 0-8. The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday night when they host College of the Desert in a 7 pm game.
