Men's Basketball Cruised to Fifth Straight Win
The MSJC men's basketball team showed off some offensive depth on Wednesday night as they easily defeated visiting Rio Hondo 91-59 in their final non conference game of the season.
The Eagles got off to a fast start as they built a 57-33 lead by halftime as Dwayne Benjamin, Dajuan Smith, and Danny Hopkins all scored double figure points in the first 20 minutes. By the time the game was over 12 different Eagles had scored and 10 different players had at least 4 points.
Benjamin finished the night with 21 in just 21 minutes of playing time, while Smith ended his night with 16, and Hopkins had 11. Patric Bowens also had his second straight strong showing scoring 7 points and pulling in 8 rebounds.
The Eagles are now 11-3 on the season and begin Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play on Friday when they travel to San Marcos to take on Palomar. Friday's game at Palomar is set to tip off at 5 pm.
