Men's Basketball Loses in Tight One
The MSJC men's basketball team lost Saturday in the Southern California Regional Finial to San Diego City College 69-66.
In a contest that was close throughout the Eagles had trouble making shots down the stretch. MSJC managed to shoot just 26.3% from the floor in the second half and 31.1% for the game as they got 24 more shot attempts than S.D. City. The Knights on the other hand shot 48% for the game to make up for committing 20 turnovers compared to the Eagles 10. Neither team led by more than 8 points during the game.
Melvin Goins led MSJC in scoring with 22 points while Curtis Bush added 14. Jeffrey West had 7 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles who finished the season 23-11. The win moved San Diego City into the State Tournament in Fresno. The Knights improved their record to 28-4.
