Top Ranked Fullerton Defeats Eagles

The MSJC men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season Thursday as they fell to #1 ranked Fullerton College 85-65 at the Wells Fargo Holiday Tournament in Riverside.

The Eagles who dropped to 10-1 on the season were led by sophomore Tim Island who finished the game with 21 points. Lee Stephens also had a solid game with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Dejuan Flowers and Mark Williams chipped in 10 points a piece.

The Eagles held their biggest lead of the ball game at 20-14 with a little over 9 minutes to play in the first half, but went into the locker room trailing 38-32. The first 5 minutes of the second half saw the Eagles cut the Fullerton lead to three on two occasions, but a 10 point Fullerton run put the game out of reach. Fullerton improved to 10-0 on the season.

The Eagles return to action today (Friday Dec. 7th) when they take on East Los Angeles College at Riverside at 3 pm.
