Men's Golf Fifth at Eagle Classic
The MSJC men's team had a strong showing in their own Eagle Golf Classic on Wednesday finishing fifth out of fifteen teams in a tournament played at Soboba Springs Country Club.
The Eagles shot a 381 on the afternoon led by Richard Schweitzer with a team best 73. Sam Proctor also had a solid day as he carded a 75 under sunny skies and calm winds. Kieran Blundell was just behind Proctor with a 76 and Vincent Brunet was just one more stroke back with a 77. Tyler Galleher had and an 80 for the Eagles and Bernard Campos rounded out the line up with an 87.
Riverside City College won the event with a team score of 367 while Orange Coast finished second with a 372. Ventura came in third place with a score of 373 and Palomar just edged out the Eagles for fourth place with a team score of 380.
Ventur's Brandon Resnick turned in the low round of the day to earn medalist honors with a 69.
The Eagles will return to action next Wednesday when they play a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference neutral match at legendary Torrey Pines. Action next Wednesday is set to tee-off at 11:45 am.
