Eagle Tennis Teams Cruises to Regional Semi-Finals

The MSJC Men's Tennis Team hosted El Camino College yesterday in the quarterfinals of the Southern California Dual Team Regional playoffs. The Eagles jumped all over the visiting warriors from the start.lazloplayoff.jpg
 
The match lasted little over an hour as the host Eagles gained an insurmountable 5-0 lead which ended the contest and launched MSJC into the semi-finals of the dual team playoffs for the 5th year in a row under Coach Escatiola. Mensford Owusu, Luis Jaimes, Alex Miehle, Marcio Dal Pont and Godi Enock each won their singles matches in straight sets. Laszlo Imre was up 7-5 2-2 in his match when play was called after Dal Pont sealed the match winning 6-2, 6-1.
The Eagles will now host Ventura College next Tuesday at 2pm at the tennis courts on the San Jacinto campus. Ventura defeated RCC yesterday 5-0 at Ventura. This will be the second meeting this season between 2 of the top ranked teams in southern California, the eagles visited Ventura earlier in the season and came away with a hard fought 5-4 win. Please come out and support the Eagles next Tuesday as they battle for a spot in the south dual team final!
