The MSJC men's tennis team defeated College of the Desert on Tuesday 5-2 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden to capture the Southern California Regional Title and move in to the State Championship match.socalchamps.jpg

MSJC jumped out to a 4-2 lead after the singles competition and pulled out the victory in the number one doubles match.  Mensford Owusu, Godi Enock, Luis Jaimes, and Alex Miehle all won their singles matches while the team of Miehle and Laszlo Irme put the match away with a 6-2, 6-2 win.

The victory was the first ever for MSJC over College of the Desert in men's tennis and was revenge for three of the Eagles losses this year.  The Eagles who are now 23-5 overall had lost three close matches to the Roadrunners earlier this year.  MSJC moves on to play either Fresno City or Foothill College next week in the State Championship match.teamchamps.jpg
