Men's Tennis Blanks Victor Valley; Stays in Second

The MSJC men's tennis team shut out visiting Victor Valley 9-0 on Thursday and remained in second place alone in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference standings.

The Eagles dominated the Rams losing just one set on the day.  Bruno Campos got MSJC off to a fast start as he won his #1 singles match 6-0, 6-1 while #3 through #5 players Thibaud Garces, Gabe da Costa, and Thiago Trigo gave up just three games between them as they all collected straight set victories.  Leo Matatazzo had to fight a little harder for his victory, but did come away with the win in the #2 singles match 6-4, 5-7, 13-11.  MSJC also took both doubles matches on the afternoon by identical 8-4 scores.

The Eagles are now 10-4 overall on the season and 8-2 in PCAC play.  This is a big week for MSJC as they are on the road for two big matches.  On Tuesday MSJC travels to El Cajon to take on Grossmont, the Griffons are currently on game behind the Eagles in the PCAC standings tied for third with Mesa.  Thursday MSJC heads to Palm Desert to take on first place College of the Desert.  The first time around the Eagles beat Grossmont 5-4 and lost to Desert 3-6.
