Men's Tennis Heads for Spring Break on High Note

The MSJC men's tennis team is heading into Spring Break with a 4 match winning streak and a record of 13-4 overall and 8-3 in the Pacific Coast Conference.

The team has been hard at work all spring as they start to focus in on post season play that begins with the PCC conference tournament which runs April 19th through the 21st. The Eagles completed their home schedule on March 20th with an impressive 9-0 shutout of conference rival Imperial Valley College.

Coach John Norman's team has been very balanced this season, and have been bolstered by the doubles play of sophomore Antone DeAnda and freshman Victor Villareal who are undefeated together in conference action. Freshman Dan Nguyen-Huu has spent most of the season as the Eagles #1 player on a team that has just two sophomores. Other members of the team that are making big contributions to the team's success include; sophomore Skyler Verloop, and freshmen Jake Magnant, Vlad Zabadayev, and Logan Cook.

MSJC has two regular season matches remaining on their schedule as they will travel to Grossmont College on April 10th and San Diego Mesa College April 12th. Following the PCC tournament the Southern California Regionals are set for May 3-5th and the state tournament will be held the 10th through the 12th of May. The Eagles will also participate in the very prestigious Ojai Tournament, one of the oldest and largest of its kind, on April 26th through the 28th.
