Lady Eagles Volleyball Team Beats Rio

The MSJC volleyball team evened their conference record at 1-1 on Wednesday night with an exciting five game match against visiting Rio Hondo College.

The Lady Eagles lost game one 25-13 before rallying to win games twblocko and three by scores of 25-17 and 25-13. The Roadrunners came back to force a fifth and deciding game by taking the fourth 25-19. In the fifth and final game Rio Hondo jumped out to an 11-3 lead before MSJC rallied back behind the serving of Megan Chavez and the hitting of Iesha Leota to win 15-12.

Leota led the Lady Eagles in kills on the night with 20 while Sarah Hatch added 11. Lindsay Brown led the MSJC defense with 13 digs in the match. The win moves MSJC's overall record to 2-10 on the year and 1-1 in Foothill Conference play.

The Lady Eagles return to action next Wednesday October 14th when they host College of the Desert in a 5 pm match.
