MSJC's Gouch Signs Basketball Scholarship to CSUSB

Josh Gouch became the second member of the MSJC men's basketball team to sign a scholarship this past week as he signed with Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday.joshandparents.jpg

Gouch played just one season at MSJC after redshirting for the Eagles during the 2010-11 season.  This past season Gouch was named First Team All Foothill Conference as he helped MSJC to a share of the Foothill Conference Championship.  Gouch averaged 15.1 points per game and 7 rebounds for the Eagles.  Josh also earned all tournament honors at the San Diego City Tournament in November and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Palomar Thanksgiving Tournament where he helped the Eagles to the tourney title.

Cal State San Bernardino head coach Jeff Oliver was pleased with Joshjoshsigns.jpg's signing, "We are very excited to have Josh join our CSUSB family," said Oliver.  "Josh has a unique ability to be a tough match up, he can take bigger players outside and take smaller players to the block".  Oliver also feels like Gouch will be able to help the Coyotes immediately, "Josh comes from a very successful and well coached program so the transition to the four year level should be easy".

Gouch a native of Columbus, Ohio played his freshman season at Columbus Community College before transferring to MSJC.  Gouch will joining a program that has 5 conference titles in the last 9 years and 11 NCAA Division II Tournament trips in the past 14 seasons.
