Lady Eagles Beat COD: Set up First Place Showdown

The MSJC softball team beat College of the Desert easily Wednesday afternoon to set up a showdown for first place on Friday with Antelope Valley.

On Wednesday the Lady Eagles won 12-1 on the road behind a two hit complete game from Lynsie Caldwell. MSJC scored all their runs in two big innings, the third and the fifth. In the top of the third the Lady Eagles scored 7 runs on 5 hits. Angel Felipe had two doubles in the third. In the fifth MSJC tacked on 5 runs on 6 more hits including three doubles. Stephanie Cardenas, Anissa Anglin, and Klarissa Flores all had RBI doubles while Sam Felipe added an RBI single.

The win set up a big game on Friday with Antelope Valley. MSJC who is now 15-17 overall and 9-1 in conference are currently one game behind AVC in the conference standings. AVC won the first meeting in Lancaster 2-0. Friday's game will be at Wheat Field in Menifee starting at 3 pm.
