Lady Eagles Softball Team Goes 1-2 Over the Weekend

The MSJC softball team lost a PCAC game on Friday, but bounced back to split a pair of non conference games on Saturday in Rancho Cucamonga.

Friday the Lady Eagles fell to 0-3 in PCAC play as they lost on the road at San Diego Mesa 6-0.  MSJC was held to just two hits in the game as Lindsey Lashook and Gabby Sanchez each picked up singles.  Mesa jumped out to the lead early scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the first and two in the bottom of the second to earn the victory.  Rayna Winters pitched the first three innings for MSJC and Lauren Partnoff threw three innings of scoreless relief.

Saturday MSJC traveled to Rancho Cucamonga for a pair of non conference games and started the day with a 12-0 romp over Chaffey in five innings.  Isabel Castellanos drove in 3 runs for MSJC as she collected 3 hits including a double and a triple.  Brenna Drake knocked in two runs in the win.  Partnoff threw 5 shut out innings in the circle for the pitching victory as she scattered two hits and struck out 5.

In Saturday's second game the Lady Eagles fell at the hands of Antelope Valley 8-1.  MSJC kept it close through the first three innings trailing just 3-1 before the Marauders scored 3 in the fourth to pull away.  Drake had MSJC's lone RBI of the game while Sanchez picked up two hits.  Winters threw four innings for MSJC while Partnoff threw 2.

The Lady Eagles are now 8-9 overall on the season and will have two home games this week in Menifee.  Wednesday MSJC takes on San Diego City and Friday they will host Grossmont, both are Pacific Coast Athletic Conference games.  Both games will be at Wheat Field next to the MSJC-Menifee Campus and both games will start at 3 pm.
